Corey Taylor proudly serves as the Quartermaster for our Post. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and raised in Missouri. A fourth-generation Veteran, he joined the U.S. Army in 2007 at the age of 17. He attended Basic Training and OSUT at Fort Knox, Kentucky, where he graduated as a 19D Cavalry Scout.

In 2008, Corey deployed to Iraq with the 1st Armored Division, 2nd Brigade Combat Team. During this deployment, he earned his first Combat Action Badge and was awarded his Gold Spurs. In 2011, he deployed to Afghanistan with the 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. After serving honorably for eight years, Corey ETS’ed from the Army in 2015.

Following his military service, Corey transitioned to the oil and gas industry, where he has worked for the past ten years. He and his wife, Melissa, have been together for 11 years and are the proud parents of two daughters. Their family has lived in Odessa for the past four years. Melissa serves as the Senior Vice President of the 4372 Auxiliary, and their daughter Elizabeth is the Auxiliary's Buddy Poppy.

Corey has been a member of our VFW for one year. He accepted the position of Quartermaster because he felt it was the role where he could best serve the post, support our Commander Kory Grant's vision, and contribute to the ongoing mission of the VFW.
