Jennifer Hawthorne was first elected as Judge Advocate in June 2023 and, through her dedication and leadership, was elected Junior Vice Commander in 2024. Her steady involvement and commitment to Veteran advocacy continue to make a lasting impact within our Post and the community.

Jennifer served honorably in the United States Army from 2004 to 2014. Over the course of her 10-year military career, she completed multiple combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, demonstrating exceptional courage and professionalism in challenging environments. Her service has been recognized with numerous awards, including the prestigious Combat Action Badge and multiple Army Commendation Medals, among others.

Since transitioning to civilian life, Jennifer has remained deeply dedicated to supporting fellow veterans and their families. Her commitment to service extends beyond leadership roles, she has been an active member of  our 4372 Honor Guard since 2021, participating in ceremonies that pay tribute to veterans and uphold the traditions and values of military service.

Jennifer’s leadership style is grounded in accountability, service before self, and compassion, her military background, combined with her passion for service and unwavering dedication to the VFW’s mission, make her a vital part of our Post leadership and a respected figure within the Veteran community.
