Daizy Deleon serves as the Public Relations Liaison for our Post and is a lifetime Auxiliary member. She plays a key role in raising awareness of the post’s mission and activities, managing social media platforms, photography to capture significant moments, and fostering community engagement. Daizy is deeply committed to honoring Veterans, supporting their needs, and creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for all members of our Odessa community.
Family and Personal Background
Daizy comes from a family with a strong military tradition, both her grandfather and uncle served in the Army, instilling in her a deep respect for Veterans and those who have served. Her father, Ramon Guerrero, is the VFW DJ, and her mother, Janey Guerrero, is also a lifetime Auxiliary member who provides unwavering support to our Post.
Daizy completed her college degree with a Child Development Associate certification and worked as a teacher’s aide and teacher for a total of four years. As a single mother for eight years, this career path allowed her to work while affording childcare, all while nurturing a growing passion for education. Years later, she met her husband, who plays a vital role in her life and supports her in all her endeavors.
Beyond being a newlywed, Daizy is a proud mother to her 9-year-old son, Zane, and a loving stepmother to her son with severe autism, Noah. Her personal experiences as a mother, teacher and stepmother have shaped her compassion, resilience, and dedication to helping others.
Pets and Hobbies
At home, Daizy enjoys the company of her beloved Rottweiler, Teddy, and her cat, Marbles. They are cherished members of her family, adding joy to her everyday life.
When not working or volunteering, Daizy loves spending time with her family. Her devotion to her loved ones, along with her passion for advocating for veterans, makes her a vital part of our VFW Post 4372.
