Jeff Myers
Quatermaster - Air Force

After graduating high school, Jeff Myers was determined to serve his country. At just 18 years old, he joined the Air Force and served 912 days overseas in Vietnam, Thailand, and surrounding regions during a time of great global tension. Reflecting on his service, he simply said, "I wanted to serve.” a testament to his unwavering dedication to his nation.
Today, Jeff is still serving in more ways. As a proud member of our Post since June 2020, he stepped up to serve as the Quartermaster in June of last year. His leadership extends beyond our walls— Jeff is an active member of VFW Post 4149's’s motorcycle group (Unit 4) and is currently working hard to establish a motorcycle unit at our VFW Post 4372!
Jeff takes immense pride in what he fondly calls his "nursery” in our main office. Whether it’s wrangling the young ones or keeping the office in line, Jeff proudly declares himself the head of his nursery. He runs it like a pro and is probably his most entertaining duty. It’s his favorite part of our VFW Post 4372.
But his impact doesn’t stop there. He has been instrumental in bringing new life to our Bingo Hall, organizing dances featuring The HonkyTonk Posse, which have become a favorite for members, in which has led us to host more future events.
Service runs deep in Jeff’s family. Two of his uncles served in WWI— one in Occupation and the other aboard the USS Lexington, which was tragically sunk in the Battle of the Coral Sea. His cousin and in-law both serve as Navy officers. Jeff’s family’s commitment to service continues with his grandson, who recently took the oath to join the Marine Corps.
Jeff and his wife, Gerry, are also proud team members of Permian Basin Honor Flight. Gerry will soon be transferring to our 4372 Auxiliary. At home, he is a proud father of one son and one daughter and the grandfather to four grandchildren. When he’s not busy serving his nursery or his community, he enjoys the company of his two loyal pets, Remy and Scoby!
Jeff Myers exemplifies the spirit of service, past and present. Whether in uniform, on the road with a motorcycle unit, fostering fellowship or caring for his beloved nursery, Jeff’s dedication continues to inspire those around him!
