Kory Grant, a proud native of Jacksonville, North Carolina, began his journey of service at 19 years of age when he joined the United States Air Force. Seeking to better his life and grow up. Kory dedicated 10 years to his military career as a Staff Sergeant (SSgt) in Security Forces (AFSC 3P0X1). His service included two deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, experiences that shaped his resilience and earned him recognition as a combat veteran.
In 2022, Kory discovered our Post 4372 during a casual visit, igniting a deep connection to the veteran community. Since then, he has been an active member, finding camaraderie, support, and purpose within the organization. His involvement reflects his passion for helping fellow Veterans and fostering a sense of belonging. Today, he is our post Sr. Vice Commander.
Kory’s personal struggles with addiction led him to a profound transformation. Inspired by his recovery journey, he became a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) to support others facing similar challenges. His work combines professional expertise with personal experience, allowing him to connect deeply with those he helps.
Kory is the father of four children and a grandfather to one, all of whom reside in New Bern, North Carolina. Though he lives in Odessa, Texas, he maintains strong ties with his family while building a fulfilling life in his new home. He shares this life with Brenda, whom he met in Odessa. Together, they have created a loving and supportive household, which also includes his loyal pet, Ace.
