The Odessa community came together in an inspiring show of support for our nation’s heroes. Our very own Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4372 hosted a community Car/Bike Show fundraiser with a heartfelt mission: to raise funds to provide services for Veterans who have no next of kin, no family, and no friends to support them in their final chapter.
Held under the West Texas sun, the car show transformed the VFW parking lot into a vibrant gathering space filled with classic cars, custom builds, motorcycle clubs and passionate community members who shared one goal, honoring and helping forgotten Veterans.
From polished muscle cars to vintage cruisers, dozens of proud car owners displayed their vehicles, drawing crowds of all ages. Local businesses, food vendors, and volunteers contributed generously, helping turn the event into more than just a fundraiser, it was a celebration of community and patriotism.
"This is about more than cars,” said Post 4372 Quartermaster Jeff Myers. "It’s about making sure no Veteran is ever laid to rest alone or forgotten. These funds help us provide dignified services and moments of respect for those who served our country, even if they don’t have anyone left to stand by their side.”
Thanks to overwhelming support from Odessa residents, the event exceeded its fundraising goals. Proceeds will go directly toward covering funeral expenses and memorial services for Veterans who pass away without any family to claim or care for them.
Beyond the financial success, the event demonstrated the strength and compassion of the Odessa community. Attendees shared stories, honored loved ones, and expressed a deep appreciation for the sacrifices made by service members.
"Our community never forgets,” said a local attendee. "Even if a Veteran doesn’t have family left, we are their family.”
The VFW plans to make this car show an annual tradition, continuing the mission of ensuring that no Veteran is left behind, in life or death.
